History

A steady witness in the Blackstone Valley

From its founding in the mid-1970s to its present-day ministry in Cumberland, BVBC has aimed to remain a faithful local church.

Our founding story

Public references connected to the church point to a founding in 1975, followed by formal incorporation in 1976. Archived anniversary material and sermon posts show a congregation that has served the region for decades with a simple desire: remain a faithful local church.

Older ministry references connect founding pastor Dr. Robert Lewis to the early years of the church, while current public channels identify Pastor Randy D. Lewis as the present pastor. That continuity gives the church a multigenerational story of preaching, worship, and service in the Blackstone Valley.
